Penguin Random House wins Publisher of the Year 2025

Penguin Random House has won Publisher of the Year at the 2025 Australian Book Industry Awards.

We’re proud to announce that Penguin Random House (PRH) has been named Publisher of the Year at the 2025 Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA).

The annual awards, which were held in Melbourne this year, celebrate the ‘achievements of the teams and individuals who get books into the hands of Australian readers.’

After a thorough review and selection process by a judging panel of industry professionals, winners are named in various book and business award categories.

In addition to winning Publisher of the Year, PRH’s Personal Penguin promotion won Marketing/Publicity Campaign of the Year.

About the Personal Penguin

In 2024, we created the Personal Penguin figurine as a gift-with-purchase for anyone who purchased two or more Penguin books on Love Your Bookshop Day.

The figurine, an adorable 5-centimetre penguin standing on a book, quickly became beloved amongst booksellers and readers alike, making for many heartwarming moments as readers came out to celebrate their local bookshops.

The partnership between Love Your Bookshop Day, an initiative by BookPeople, and the Personal Penguin was a huge success in 2024 and we are delighted to let readers know that a new Penguin Collectable will be available as part of the 2025 promotion. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon.

Thank you to everyone who helped us achieve the Publisher of the Year honour. From authors to booksellers, Penguin employees to readers who celebrated these books, it was truly a group effort.
