Following the passing of Dolly Parton, Penguin Random House pays tribute to her unparalleled legacy, including a deep commitment to children’s literacy.
Dolly Parton was a singer, songwriter, actress, producer, businesswoman and philanthropist. The composer of more than 3,000 songs and author of many bestselling books, she has also given away millions of books to children through her non-profit, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The program aims to improve childhood literacy by delivering one free book per month to children from birth to five years old.
Penguin Random House has been a proud partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library since 2013, helping deliver more 2 million books to over 40,000 children in some of Australia’s most vulnerable communities. Her library has had a lasting impact on children globally, giving them a significant head start in their lifelong learning journey.
Dolly Parton also published many wonderful books with Penguin Random House, including a memoir, cookbook and many much-loved children’s books.
