Sunny and Storm wins Booktopia Best Children's Book of 2026

Sunny and Storm has been voted by readers as Booktopia’s Children’s Book of the Year 2026.

Sunny and Storm is a fun, funny illustrated adventure written by comedian, bestselling author and social media sensation, Tanya Hennessy, and illustrated by Rachael McLean.

'It means so much to win this category because it's voted for by people who read and buy books,' Tanya said. 'I love writing for kids - and Sunny and Storm is my best work. It’s incredible that people relate and like the world and characters I’ve written!'

Booktopia is Australia's biggest online only bookstore and their annual Book Awards celebrate the favorite Australian books and authors, as voted by readers.

A huge congratulations to Tanya Hennessy and Sunny and Storm for this very well-deserved win.
