Tim Harris kicks another goal with this continuation of the hilarity of Mr Bambuckle’s remarkable class . . . Highly recommended for readers from around 8 years upwards – I believe this is one series that will really grab those reluctant readers.

A rambunctious and hilarious read. My Year 4 students loved having this book read aloud to them and they rolled around laughing at its silliness and unexpected twists and turns ... Written in a similar humorous style to the Treehouse series or David Walliams books, these novels are a fun read for beginning novel readers or reluctant readers.

There is no denying this book is fun, and looking at it from the perspective of an adult I feel like it teaches us that sometimes we need to step back and make learning fun because we all learn differently. We all need a dose of Mr Bambuckle! ... I highly recommend this read and while there are many funny books out in the market at the moment for this age group, this is right on top as one of the best.

A crazy, unpredictable and often hilarious novel.

Another rip-roaringly awesome tale about the mysterious Mr Bambuckle and the class of room 12B.

Mr Bambuckle is the teacher every child wants to have. He rides a unicycle to school – right into the classroom – and makes learning fun, with plenty of surprises. Best of all, he empowers his students to use their own strengths to solve problems, particularly: how to survive school with their horrible new teacher ... Sydney author Tim Harris taught in primary schools for 15 years and knows how to appeal to young readers. In his book, the children are the heroes.

Class 12B’s quirky students are immediately relatable and Harris’ engaging narratives are jam-packed with adventure, ingenuity, and authentically moving, comic moments. It’s Harris’s masterful understanding of both the classroom and the child-adult dynamic that for me, really make his stories shine.

These books are loads of fun and I can see why they are hugely popular. There are commonalities between the books that young readers will love. From the witty humour and free flowing prose, to the individual stories of characters and hilarious conversations between characters, these are fun, interactive reads.
