Disney+ has just unveiled the first teaser for the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series, which is set to air soon.
Based on Rick Riordan’s children’s book series of the same name, the show will follow a young boy, Percy Jackson, who is the demigod son of the Greek god Poseidon. Upon learning of his family heritage, Percy starts training at Camp Half-Blood to learn how to fight off the people, deities and monsters who want to destroy him.
Blending ancient Greek mythology and modern life, the series showcases the follies and foibles of the gods. Excitement, enchantment, and so much adventure – it’s easy to understand why this beloved book series deserves a screen adaptation.
While the first two books from the series were adapted for film, they only scratched the surface of the Percy Jackson universe, which consists of a total of 3 series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus and The Trials of Apollo.
Though there’s not much information about the upcoming series yet, fans are hoping for multiple seasons that live up to the hype of Riordan’s books.
