Snickers Milkshake

Snickers is one of, if not the most, best-selling chocolate bar in America. It is also one of my most requested chocolate bar milkshake recipes.

Blend together the Snickers's chocolate, nougat, caramel, and peanuts with chocolate ice cream, and you'll discover why so many people have made this their number-one choice.

SERVES:
1
PREP TIME: 7 minutes
CHILL TIME: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

Glass:

  • Caramel sauce (SEE NOTE)
  • Chopped peanuts

Milkshake:

  • 3 scoops chocolate ice cream (about 1 cup)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
  • ½ Snickers bar, chopped

Toppings:

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate Syrup

METHOD

  1. Coat the rim of a 12-ounce glass with caramel sauce.

  2. Add the chopped peanuts to a small plate or shallow bowl. Roll the rim of the glass coated with caramel sauce in the peanuts, allowing the peanuts to coat the sauce.

  3. Set the glass upside down on a small plate, and place in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.

  4. Add all the milkshake ingredients to a blender, and blend on high until smooth.

  5. Carefully remove the chilled glass from the freezer.

  6. Drizzle caramel sauce around the inside of the chilled glass.

  7. Pour the blended milkshake into the chilled glass.

  8. Add the toppings to the milkshake. Begin with a generous amount of whipped cream on top, and drizzle Chocolate Syrup over the whipped cream.

  9. Add a straw, and that's a Snickers Milkshake!

NOTE:
Although store-bought caramel sauce works well here. my Salted Caramel Sauce (page 31) is also great in this recipe. Simply warm it up in the microwave for 20 seconds before using.

‘I always think that canapés should box slightly above their weight – in other words, they need to be vividly flavoured to succeed. Here, the combination of crisp brioche, salty feta, pickled walnuts, figs, honey and thyme is just that. If you like, there’s a recipe for pickling your own green walnuts on page 275 of Rick Stein’s Christmas. You can also make this with slices of goat’s cheese from a log instead of the whipped feta.’
