Announcing Star-Crossed by Minnie Darke

Star-crossed will be published in March 2019.

We are delighted to announce the publication of Star-crossed by Minnie Darke in March 2019. Publisher Beverley Cousins secured ANZ rights in a hotly contested auction among five Australian publishers, negotiated by Gaby Naher. To date, foreign sales have been sold in 19 countries with a major film and TV deal in negotiation.

Minnie Darke is the pen-name of Tasmanian literary author Danielle Wood, and this is her first commercial fiction offering.

Agent Gaby Naher said, 'Star-crossed – a literary cousin of everybody's favourite Christmas film, Love Actually – felt like the very best gift of the season when I first read it. Australian publishers fell upon it in delight when we offered it here in December and Dan Lazar of Writers House has just concluded a seven-publisher auction in the US on our behalf. Not only does Star-crossed promise great excitement for all involved in its publication and sale, but it will lift the spirits of everyone who has the good fortune to read it.'

Beverley Cousins, Penguin Random House Commercial Fiction Publisher, said, ‘Star-crossed cast a spell on me (and thankfully all my colleagues too). It’s fresh, funny and gloriously romantic, peopled with characters that ooze warmth and charm. This is a must-read for anyone who loves Liane Moriarty, Marian Keyes and David Nicholls. Actually, it’s a must-read full stop!’
