About this Event

A Dog's Best Friend is a collection of uplifting true stories of dogs and their unlikely mates.

Through these stories, Laura explores the relationships our furry friends create with the unlikeliest of companions. From dogs befriending cats to Ilamas or wallaroos, A Dog's Best Friend features fifteen heartwarming tales of animal friendships both in Australia and overseas.

So grab your furry friend and join us as we learn about Tiger the cat and George the Kelpie-Labrador, Luke and Chuck, the policeman/police dog duo, and Kevin the llama's obsession with Yiddle the chihuahua.

Laura Greaves is a multi-award-winning journalist, author and proud 'crazy dog lady'. She has spent more than twenty years writing for newspapers and magazines in Australia and around the world. She is the author of the collections Incredible Dog Journeys, Dogs with Jobs, The Rescuers, Miracle Mutts, Extraordinary Old Dogs, A Dog's Best Friend, the children's book Amazing Dogs with Amazing Jobs, as well as three romantic comedy novels, Be My Baby, The Ex-Factor and Two Weeks 'Til Christmas, all of which feature an extensive supporting cast of cheeky canines.

Laura has twice won the Dog Writers Association of America's Rio Award, which recognises the best book about a dog that has impacted a human's life in a profoundly positive way.
