The Judy Nunn Short Story Competition

Share your story and you could win!

To celebrate the release of Stories from the Otto Bin Empire by Judy Nunn, Penguin Random House (PRH) and Woman’s Day are searching for another great story teller by running a short story competition.

The winner will receive $1,000 cash, a collection of Judy Nunn’s books and the opportunity to be published by Penguin as an eBook.

To enter, upload your manuscript in the form below. Manuscripts must be between 3,500-5,000 words and be based on the theme ‘Families come in all shapes and sizes’.

Entries close 5 December 2024, 11:59pm AEDT.
The winner will be chosen by Judy Nunn herself and a team from PRH and will be announced Friday 20 December.

The details

  • Story parameters: Stories entered should be character-driven and contain an element of truth. Stories should be between 3,500 and 5,000 words.
  • Date and time: The competition begins on 11 November 2024 at 12.00 AM AEDT time. Competition closes on 5 December 2024 at 11.59 PM AEDT, and manuscripts must be received by 11.59pm AEDT (5 December 2024).
