The Courage to Love

The inspirational guide to authentic relationships – from the 10 million copy bestselling author of The Courage to be Disliked

Why do so many of us struggle to love others – and to accept the love we deserve for ourselves?

10 million-copy bestselling author Ichiro Kishimi brings you an inspiring guide to cultivating authentic relationships, framing love not as a passive experience but as a skill we have to learn – and that we can all get better at.

Written with the author’s wisdom and compassion, Kishimi explains why love so often becomes entangled with control, approval, or self-sacrifice, and unpicks all the other lies we tell ourselves about love that stop us from embracing other people with a full heart – not only enabling you to understand your relationships, but to improve them.

Delving into what it actually means to really love another person, this book will help you break free of simply wanting to feel special or be liked, and embrace a way of loving that is free, reciprocal and equal – without surrendering who you really are. This is a book about giving yourself permission to love, and to be loved, on your own terms.
