THE AUTHOR
Gretel Killeen is well known as a radio and television personality and as a stand-up comedian. Her innovative picture books include Cherry Pie and What'll we get for Grandma? Gretel lives in Sydney with her two children Eppie and Zeke.

THE ILLUSTRATOR
Leigh Hobbs once worked at Luna Park and helped restore an antique merry-go-round. His cartoons have appeared in magazines and newspapers such as the Age and his books include Caro's Croc Cafe, Mr Knuckles and the Old Tom series.

Gretel Killeen

Gretel Killeen started writing comedy by accident when she stood up to perform a very serious poem and everybody laughed. From here she moved to writing and performing comedy in a variety of theatres and clubs across her home country, Australia, and for a number of major radio stations. Gretel's comedy writing then led to television and in 2001 Gretel hosted Australia's Big Brother - a phenomenal success. Gretel has published a number of best-selling books that will split your sides and make your head explode. After you read them, you'll never be the same again . . . She lives in Sydney's famous Bondi with her two children, Zeke and Eppie, the stars of the My Sister books.

Leigh Hobbs

Leigh Hobbs is an artist and author best known for his children's book character 'Old Tom.'Leigh was born in Melbourne in 1953, but grew up in a country town called Bairnsdale. His first job as an artist was at Sydney's Luna Park where he created two giant caricature figures called Larry and Lizzy Luna. Leigh recently designed the colour scheme for the entrance to Melbourne's Luna Park.'Old Tom' first made his appearance in four hilarious advent published by Puffin. It was on these books that the French/Australian animated TV series was based.Leigh was short-listed for the 2002 Australian Children's Book Council Book of the Year Awards for Horrible Harriet, and again in 2003 for Old Tom's Holiday.Leigh is also a sculptor and painter. He has a passion for English history and visits London as often as possible.
