Dream Minding

The Secret Language of Sleep

A radical new take on how to use dreams as a tool for self-discovery and emotional healing by renowned psychotherapist and Vogue and Goop contributor, Annie Armstrong Miyao.

A fascinating journey into the hidden world of our dreams, and what they can reveal about who we really are, from renowned psychotherapist and Vogue and Goop contributor Annie Armstrong Miyao.

Every night, our minds create strange and vivid worlds. We find ourselves in unfamiliar places, encounter people from our past, live through impossible situations – and wake wondering what, if anything, it all means.

In Dream Minding, psychotherapist Annie Armstrong Miyao takes us inside the mysterious world of dreams, exploring what happens in our minds while we sleep and what our dreams can reveal about the emotions, relationships and experiences shaping our waking lives.

Drawing on psychological theory, neuroscience and fascinating real-life case studies from her work as a psychotherapist, Miyao explores the sometimes absurd scenes that play out in our sleeping minds and uncovers the thoughts, fears and desires that can lie beneath them.

Moving between science, psychology and the stories of real people, Dream Minding is an illuminating exploration of the unconscious mind – and of how paying attention to the lives we lead while we sleep can deepen our understanding of the lives we lead while awake.

‘Annie’s profound exploration of the unconscious mind will have you thinking deeply about your inner life, your relationships, and how you take in the world while teaching you to embrace the medicine – and the magic – of your sleep to find meaning in your waking life.’ – Lori Gottlieb, New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone
