Alice-Miranda in China

Alice-Miranda 14

Fun, festivities and fireworks!

Fun, festivities and fireworks!

Alice-Miranda and her friends are on a school exchange in China! There's so much to see and do, and plenty of new people to meet. Among the whirlwind of sights is a breathtaking circus show, a hair-raising feat and an encounter with a family of acrobats.

While some are having a great time, others haven't quite landed on their feet. Throw in clashing personalities and the theft of a priceless antiquity, and sparks are set to fly. There may be more than just fireworks in store for Alice-Miranda and her friends . . .

About the Author

Jacqueline Harvey

Jacqueline Harvey worked in schools for many years but has had a passion for storytelling since she was a child.

She is the author of the popular Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose series, which have sold over one million copies in Australia alone. Her books have received numerous short-listings and awards while her picture book, The Sound of the Sea, was a CBCA Honour Book.

Jacqueline speaks to thousands of young people at schools and festivals around the world, and says the characters in her books are often made up of the best bits of children she’s met over the years. While she is not a twin, like Kensy and Max she does have excellent powers of observation and has always thought she’d make a great spy.

Jacqueline lives in Sydney and is currently working on more Kensy and Max, Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose adventures.

Praise for Alice-Miranda in China

“From hilarious antics, like smuggling goldfish through airport security, to odd adult behaviour (losing a metallic platform trainer in the loo, anyone?), Alice-Miranda in China is highly entertaining and hard to put down. And the fantastic names throughout the story — Ambrosia Headlington Bear, Professor Winterbottom, Ophelia Grimm, etc. — are sure to bring a smile to readers.”

Stephanie Ward, Reading Time, Children's Book Council of Australia

“As with all of the other books in the series, this title is an engrossing read and Alice-Miranda, the girl who is everyone's best friend, is as endearing as ever. Independent female readers from year 3 and above will ensure that this title is never on the library shelf.”
