Liz makes her pictures using collage and printmaking as well as paint and pencils. She was awarded an Australian Society of Authors Children’s Picture Book Illustrators’ Initiative in 2014 and participated in a May Gibbs Trust Fellowship to Adelaide in 2015. In 2017, the picture book One Photo by Ross Watkins, which Liz illustrated, was shorlisted for the CBCA Picture Book of the Year Award.

Liz spent her early artistic years drawing (mainly horse-based) stories on her dad’s electrical circuit diagram papers and copying her mum’s loopy handwriting. She now has a ceiling-high stack of sketchbooks full of inspirations from around the world that fuel her picture book llustrations. Her passion for drawing has contributed to international research with the British Council and Big Draw.

Liz now lives in Newcastle, Australia with her husband Mario.
