John Heminway is a writer and film maker, who since 1969 has been documenting the wild corners of the planet. His film credits include A Year on Earth and Evolution, and his books include A Place in Montana and African Journeys. He has written for numerous magazines, newspapers and periodicals such as New York Times, Reader's Digest, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure and National Geographic Adventure. In 1989, he was cited for his role in earning Condé Nast Traveler the National Magazine Award.
