JIM POWELL, editor ofLaissez Faire books, has been a senior fellow at the Cato Institute since 1988. He is the author of the bestselling THE TRIUMPH OF LIBERTY, which the Wall Street Journal called, "A literary achievement," and he has written more than 400 articles for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Money magazine, Reason, and numerous other national publications. Mr. Powell studied under noted historians Daniel Boorstin and William McNeill at the University of Chicago, where he published articles for future Nobel Laureates F. A. Hayek and Milton Friedman.
