Jenny Bornholdt is a Wellington-based poet who has published 10 collections of poetry and edited two collections of poetry with her partner, Gregory O’Brien, My Heart Goes Swimming: New Zealand Love Poems and The Colour of Distance: New Zealand Writers in France. She also co-edited with Gregory O’Brien and Mark Williams An Anthology of New Zealand Poetry in English, which won the 1997 Montana Book Award for Poetry. Her own poetry collection The Rocky Shore won the 2009 Montana Book Award for Poetry. Jenny was awarded the Meridian Energy Katherine Mansfield Fellowship in 2002 and was the fifth Te Mata Poet Laureate in 2005. She was awarded an Arts Foundation Laureate in 2003 and in 2013 she was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to literature.
