Enid Blyton (18971968) is known throughout the world for her imaginative children’s books and her enduring characters such as Noddy, The Famous Five and The Secret Seven. She is one of the most borrowed authors from British libraries and she holds a fascination for readers old and young alike. She is in the top 10 all-time best seller lists with her books having sold over 600 million copies. Although some of Blyton’s work was viewed as controversial, it still encouraged younger generations to read and she is still admired and very widely read today.
