The Dashwood sisters return to the big screen in a new Sense and Sensibility adaptation starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles.
What is Sense and Sensibility all about?
At its heart, Sense and Sensibility, Austen’s first published novel in 1811, is the story of two sisters who approach life and particularly love in very different ways.
Elinor Dashwood representing “sense” is thoughtful and practical while her younger sister Marianne, representing “sensibility” is passionate and impulsive.
Their lives change dramatically after their father dies and they relocate to a cottage in Devonshire. From there come secrets, misunderstandings, unsuitable matches and broken hearts.
