The film adaptation of Emily Henry’s People We Meet on Vacation is fast approaching it’s January release. The film follows Poppy and Alex over 12 summers as their relationship transforms from enemies, to friends, to… you’ll have to wait and see.
Who’s playing the main characters in the movie?
The beloved characters Alex and Poppy are played by exceptional actors Tom Blyth and Emily Bader. Tom Blyth is known for his stellar role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, whilst Emily Bader is known for her role as Jane in My Lady Jane. The iconic Jameela Jamil will take on the role of Poppy’s chic boss at Rest and Relaxation, Swapna Bakshi-Highsmith.
When does the movie come out?
The movie will be available for streaming on January 9, 2026. The film cover version of the book will be available for purchase from January 6, 2026.
Where can I watch it?
The film won’t be screened in theatres but available exclusively on Netflix. This project is the first in Emily Henry’s backlist to be made into a film. Many of her other books are also being made into films and TV series, with the cast and date to be announced. Happy Place is being adapted into a Netflix exclusive series. Beach Read will be adapted by 20th Century Studios, while Tango will bring Book Lovers to life. Funny Story will become a feature film, created by Lyrical Media and Ryder Pictures Company, with the adaptation managed by Emily Henry.
