Before becoming an author, Dan Brown was an English and creative writing teacher at Phillips Exeter Academy – where he himself had attended as a student. When a student’s email resulted in an investigation by the US Secret Service, Brown developed an interest in intelligence agencies, setting the foundation for his first novel, Digital Fortress. ‘Cantering on clandestine organisations and code breaking, the novel became a model for Brown’s later works,’ says Brittanica.
Today, Brown’s novels are published in 56 languages around the world, including his latest release, The Secret of Secrets.
