About

The Queenscliffe Literary Festival presents a very special pop-up event. On the day that became known as Black Saturday, one man deliberately lit two fires near the small town of Churchill in Gippsland, then sat on the roof of his house and watched. The Arsonist is the story of that man, his town, the fires he lit, and the people who were killed. How does fear of bushfire play out in our national psyche? Who would become an arsonist? Join us to hear Chloe Hooper, the acclaimed author of The Tall Man, discuss her new book with Christine Gordon, Events Manager at Readings.
