You Don't Have to be Good

Like a British Anne Tyler, Sabrina Broadbent brings wit, sharp-eyed observation and real feeling to bear on the foibles and fault lines of everyday life, in this story of what happens when a childless, apparently invisible, middle-aged woman disappears, creating unexpected ripples in the world around her.

Sometimes doing the right thing ins't an option.

In her late forties, in a stalled marriage and emailed half to death at work, solid, dependable, sensible Bea notices that she is starting to disappear. One morning on her way to work she vanishes completely.

Her husband is suspected of murder, high-flying sister Katherine starts to unravel and Katherine's teenage children, Laura and Adrian - brilliant, difficult, and wise - struggle to solve the mystery of their beloved aunt's disappearance.

Touching and funny, You Don't have to be Good is a sharp and clever look at what happens when a woman reaches the point where being good is no longer an option.
