Having made his fortune, Royal Navy Captain Lord James Gresham has come home to find a proper English wife. He employs the help of his sister-in-law Ariel, but he won’t be able to court any of her friends until Kawena Benson leaves him alone.
Kawena is out to reclaim a cache of stolen jewels, and James is at the top of her suspect list. Realizing that he’ll never find a wife with Kawena following his every move, he volunteers to help her find the real culprit. The more time these two spend together, the more they realize how completely unsuitable they are for each other…but that doesn’t stop the passion from smoldering between them.
