Well, That Escalated Quickly

Fran feels lost. One minute she was young and fun with the world at her feet. Now she has a favourite saucepan and a phone full of reminders about World Book Day costumes and PTA meetings. Thank goodness she can escape to her 9-5 for a slice of normality.

Except the universe has other ideas, and on the day Fran thinks she is about to be promoted, she is made redundant instead. She knows she should go home and tell her husband . . . she just needs a chance to gather her thoughts first.

Before she knows it, Fran has started living a second life during her 'work' day where she isn't defined by being someone's mum or wife and instead is just . . . Fran. She's looking for jobs, but she's also on top of lunchboxes, and she's finally getting round to those World Book Day costumes. She's even found time to volunteer for a community project to revamp the football pavilion at the local park.

But as more time passes, the threat of her two worlds colliding (and her lie unravelling) starts to close in.
