Undine

A gorgeously spooky book about magic, family, power and love.

A gorgeously spooky book about magic, family, power and love.

Being sixteen is confusing and unpredictable enough for anyone. But if you're Undine, you also begin hearing voices calling you home in the middle of the night – and then you suddenly produce a storm out of thin air. Your best friend Trout insists on falling messily in love with you, while you end up with a crush on his older brother. Meanwhile, the ocean begins appearing in your inland bedroom, and your dead father turns out to be not so dead after all …

Praise for Undine

Undine has the essential ingredients for an excellent read. It is full of interest, mystery, and conflict. Add a beguiling main character and interesting peripheral players, and the emotive prose carries you along on a current of pleasurable escape … The author has planned the book with finesse, building her story slowly until the pivotal, tumultuous climax.

Good Reading

The descriptive elements are wonderful, and the story will have immediate appeal to people in middle secondary school. Many will be hooked by the magic theme, but for me the story of a young woman’s journey to maturity and acceptance of what she is, is far more powerful. Recommended.

The moment I started reading, I had trouble putting it down ... Romance + drama + fantasy: I couldn't have read a better book! ... This book was beautiful, it made me feel like magic was within it.
