It is unrivalled for its scope, its humour and the enormous pleasure it has given to generations. THE KINDLY ONES follows Nicholas Jenkins, Kenneth Widmerpool and others, as they negotiate the intellectual, cultural and social hurdles which stand between them and the 'Acceptance World'.

“Emerging from an Anthony Powell novel, I tend to feel that no one else living really writes English- The Kindly Ones is as magnificently comic as anything in the series”
