A magical, enchanting tale, with stunning illustrations that will transport you into another world.

A magical, enchanting tale, with stunning illustrations that will transport you into another world. Who is Charity La Touche? Brought up in an orphanage and then by a rather odd and elusive guardian, Charity isn't sure who she really is. What she does know is that she isn't allowed outside unsupervised into the grounds of the rambling old house she lives in. She mustn't over-excite herself because of her 'condition'. And her only friend in the world is a cat who sometimes seems to understand what she's saying. Then one snowy day she meets an old lady by the gates and suddenly she realises things may not be quite what they seem.

Beck's book is exquisitely produced, and a delight to hold; this would make a perfect present for a dreamy child of 9+ . . . Proves, triumphantly, that there are better books out there than the endless Twilight rip-offs pumped out for young girls. We just have to find what is beautiful and true

Amanda Craig, The Times

The Haunting of Charity Delafield is a beautiful book with fairytale like qualities which make is a completely charming read right from the first word through to the very last. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
