The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Relish a BRIEF ENCOUNTER with F Scott Fitzgerald, and his iconic, fairy-talesque story of a man aging backwards, from old age to birth.

The classic, moving tale of a man born old, destined to die young, and live at odds with his time

To the confusion and embarrassment of his family, Benjamin Button is born an old man. As the years pass, he grows younger – moving against the current of ordinary life. While those around him age as expected, Benjamin finds himself increasingly out of step, his relationships strained by a life no one else can share. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is F. Scott Fitzgerald’s quietly unsettling tale of being a misfit to one’s time.

Includes the stories: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Winter Dreams and 'The Sensible Thing'

About the author

F. Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald was considered the quintessential author of the Jazz Age. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1896, Fitzgerald attended Princeton University, where he began to write seriously. After joining the U.S. Army in 1917, Fitzgerald met Zelda Sayre, whom he later married. In 1920, Fitzgerald's first novel, This Side of Paradise, transformed Fitzgerald overnight into a literary sensation. The Great Gatsby followed in 1925, although it was not as popular at the time as his second novel, The Beautiful and the Damned. Fitzgerald died in 1940 of a heart attack. He was forty-four years old.
