A globe-trotting, torn from the headlines thriller from a CWA Steel Dagger winning author
A veteran American spymaster weaving an elaborate web. A politician who makes a high-stakes promise he can’t keep. A clutch of sophisticated air defence missiles stolen in Ukraine. A terrorist cell with plans to commit an outrage in the US capital. And, at the centre of it all, a British agent, operating alone and undercover, on a desperate, globe-trotting mission to prevent catastrophe. She cannot fail . . .
Simon Conway is a former British Army officer and international aid worker who has cleared landmines and unexploded bombs in the aftermath of war in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. As Co-Chair of the Cluster Munition Coalition he successfully campaigned for an international ban on cluster bombs. He currently works for the The HALO Trust, starting new projects in conflict-affected countries.
He is the author of seven novels including the 2010 Ian Fleming Steel Dagger winner A Loyal Spy. His next novel, American Carnage, will be published by Penguin Michael Joseph in 2026.
