The Adventures of Pongo and Stink

A roll-in-the-mud adventure story about two piggies who LOVE food, but bite off more than they can chew.

Pongo and Stink are FED UP with living in a pigsty. They want to live a life of luxury, all cosy in the farmhouse, getting loving pats from Farmer Nic while eating scones and jam on toast - just like their tormentor, Rollo the dog. When Pongo has the daring idea of dressing up as pups, the two piggies set out to chase their dreams. But will the wily fox scupper their plans? Or will Pongo and Stink discover that to be yourself is the greatest, mud-splattered adventure of all?
An uproariously funny tale about the difficulties of trying to be something you’re not, the power of true friendship and the perils of eating far too much cheese.

It’s glorious! It’s funny, it’s light-hearted, it moves along beautifully. It would make a beautiful read aloud and also very gift-able.

Kate Temple

What adorable pigs! This is honestly a perfect read-aloud for Prep to Year 4. …. This book will leave your audience as happy as pigs in mud!

Zewlan Moor, Storylinks

Nicol is a great storyteller, observes characters beautifully, narrates life from a quirky perspective – and as a writer, she knows how to have fun. This is a great independent read for young ones and a great read aloud for Stage 1 and 2. And in all the crazy uproar, the novel raises great ideas for young readers to discuss. This represents reading for pleasure beautifully.

Paul MacDonald, The Children's Bookshop

Reminiscent of an Aesop’s fable with the clever pigs outsmarting the fox, this is a fun and delightful story of friendship, following your dreams and coming to self-acceptance. (Not to mention the dangers of eating far too much cheese!)

Debra Clewer, Buzzwords

I can absolutely guarantee you that your kiddos will be rolling about as happily as pigs in mud when they get their hands on this one…a great serial read for your classes years 2-4….Definitely an oinking porcine 5 pigs for this one.
