Jay Casey stars in . . . LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION HERO!

When Jay is invited to audition for his favourite director, he is overjoyed. But things are not as they seem. Could director Ben Beaumont really be asking Jay to lead a team of kids in a battle against evil? Jay has his doubts, but when someone close to him is kidnapped, Jay knows he has no choice. He must step up to head the team.

Written in a fast-paced, energetic style, "Star League" is an ideal series for hesitant readers, especially boys. It features plenty of intrigue, fight scenes and evil villains, all presented in a slick narrative style, interspersed with Manga-style illustrations that should also appeal to this demographic. "Star League" will add another burst of energy to the "tween" reader field; the titles are sure to be a hit with parents and young readers, and educators will be happy to have another resource to hand.

Natalie Crawford, Bookseller + Publisher

It is all the stuff of popular culture, computer games, anime and movies, but unlike much of the usual spin-off merchandise this has a strong narrative and deliciously unexpected plot. One of the strengths of the writing is its thrilling high-powered action, which is always going off in an unexpected direction. Such fun. Zac Power readers, here’s a great new series to try.
