Meet four very different girls who all have one thing in common – they love to dance!

Meet four very different girls who all have one thing in common – they love to dance!

Eleanor Irvin is ten years old, and dancing is her everything. Tap, ballet, lyrical, and ballroom – she’s tried it all. But her favourite style, by far, is jazz.

When Miss Caroline, the owner of Silver Shoes Dance Studio, announces she will be selecting dancers to perform in the upcoming Jazz Groove Dance Competition, Ellie is over the moon! There’s only one problem, she’s not so good at auditions. Actually, there might be a few problems – Ellie’s dance enemy, Jasmine, seems determined to ruin her chances and the new girl, Ashley, is really talented. Will Ellie be able to overcome her nerves and hold on to the spotlight?

Praise for Silver Shoes 1: And All That Jazz

. . . the author has captured the total passion that her characters feel for dance, and the descriptions of getting ‘into the zone’ while performing really ring true . . . Reluctant readers aged eight to nine should enjoy And All That Jazz, particularly girls and boys who dance (there are two boy dancers in the story, although they are minor characters).

Louise Pfanner, Books & Publishing

This is a great new series for this age group that loves to dance and Miss 8 enjoyed these first two episodes immensely. With each girl having their particular passion (in Breaking Pointe Riley loves ballet and ballroom dancing is the focus of Paige’s story in Dance till you Drop – both out in April) the series has a broader appeal . . . There are insights and lessons here that aren’t necessarily dance-focused. Not only does the author’s expertise in dance show through but also her knowledge of this age group.
