About the authors

Nat Amoore

Nat Amoore is a Sydney-based children's author whose debut novel, Secrets of a Schoolyard Millionaire, came out in 2019. It had great success as both Dymocks and QBD's 'Kids Book Of The Month', becoming Australia's #1 bestselling debut Aussie children’s fiction in 2019. It has now sold into the UK, US, Italy, China, Estonia and Romania.

Her second book, The Power of Positive Pranking, released in 2020, was shortlisted for the 2021 Readings Children’s Book Prize and REAL Children’s Choice Book Awards, and won the Environment Award for Children’s Literature. Rounding out Nat's trilogy about the kids of Watterson Primary, The Right Way to Rock was released in June 2021 and became a CBCA Notable.

In 2021, Nat wrote a 5-part fiction podcast series called Project ARI for Nova Entertainment and the Australian Government as part of the #StopItAtTheStart campaign. Project ARI won Best Branded Podcast at the 2021 Australian Podcast Awards and went on to receive an ACRA in 2022.

We Run Tomorrow, written by Nat and featuring graphic novel-style illustrations from Australian illustrator Mike Barry, was published in 2022, becoming another CBCA Notable. Now it’s time to get excited about Nat's hilarious junior fiction series called Shower Land, illustrated by James Hart, which has the first three books all coming out in 2024.

James Hart

James Hart grew up loving comics, cartoons and drawing. After finishing his studies, he turned that passion into a full-time career as an illustrator. Over the years he has worked on toy designs, animations and books for multiple clients and publishers across the world. Projects include: the popular animated series of The Day My Butt Went Psycho, the award-winning You Choose series, the CBCA-notable Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables series, the thrilling Mysterious World of Cosentino series, the young adventure series D-Bot Squad and MANY titles with author Adam Wallace, including the series Cowboy and Birdbrain that James illustrated and co-created.

James also illustrated the 2018 Premiers' Reading Challenge posters in Victoria, and has now written and illustrated the hilarious and flamboyant action-packed graphic novel series, Super Geeks.

When James isn't drawing he can be found being a dad and husband, watching movies and cartoons, listening to music, gardening, reading and writing.

Praise for Shower Land 2: Feel the Freeze

Feel the Freeze is perfectly targeted at the junior fiction reader, with just the right amount of tension and pacing, coupled with plenty of trademark Nat Amoore humour . . . Amoore and Hart seem to be on to a winner with the teleporting shower that might encourage or discourage children from spending time in the bathroom – depending on their adventurous streak!

Shower Land: Feel the Freeze is a fantastic addition to the series, and sure to be a hit with kids and parents alike. Its combination of adventure, humour and heart makes it a standout read that will leave young readers eagerly awaiting the next instalment in Felix's journey.
