Daddy and Papa hug me tight
We love Shabbat—our favorite night!

It’s time for Shabbat! Follow one family as they prepare for this very special day of the week. There are dishes to be placed, candles ready to be lit, and a prayer to be sung together. Daddy, Papa, and their child gather around the table for dinner—there is soup, challah, and lots of love! Award-winning author Lesléa Newman’s rhyming, rhythmic text and Zara’s cozy art invite readers into the warmth and joy of this Jewish family’s tradition.
