About the Authors

Mandy Archer

Mandy Archer's love of words started one Christmas when Santa brought her a typewriter. Wind forward three decades and Mandy’s still typing. After training as an editor, she went on to become the Creative Head of Children’s Books for BBC Worldwide, nurturing a host of characters including Wallace & Gromit and the Teletubbies. Since then she has devised all kinds of titles for children and teens, ranging from board books for babies through to paperbacks and pop-ups. For the record, she still can’t shake her stationery habit. Her prize possession is a rather snazzy electronic pencil sharpener.

Kirsteen Harris-Jones

Kirsteen Harris-Jones left school at 16 and attended the North Wales school of art and design. Her career has spanned lots of areas from advertising houses, creative/ graphic design houses and even animation studios. Then, after 20 yrs and a huge semi- break to stay at home and look after my children, she has remained busy as a freelance artist. Her achievements to date are winning the NEWI Caldecott prize, and a highly commended at Macmillan for Gilda's brother.

Praise for Fairies of Blossom Bakery: Cookie and the Secret Sleepover

“We loved this book just as much as the first one, for the lovely illustrations, the appealing fairies and the helpful life lessons about true friendships. But the other thing we all love is the fab recipe at the end of the book, allowing little readers to make up one of the sweet treats from the story.”
