Cowboy Small

First published in 1949 and recolored and reissued in 2001, COWBOY SMALL is now available as a board book.

Cowboy Small takes good care of his horse, Cactus. In return, Cactus helps Cowboy Small get work done on the range. Together they round up cattle for branding and live the good life. At night, Cowboy Small eats at the chuck wagon, sings with his friends, and sleeps under the stars.

Praise for Cowboy Small

"(The Lois Lenski reissues) have been smartened up with full-color treatment. I wasn't sure how today's sophisticated children would respond to Mr. Small's cheerful, tidy world, but I needn't have worried. Two-year-olds will always gravitate to simply told tales featuring vehicles and their operators, no matter how old-fashioned they appear to be. These titles will grab hold of their intended audience."--Recommended Reissues:Characters You Can Count On, The Horn Book Magazine (September/October 2001)

"Mr. Small is an American institution."--Parents magazine
