Wendy Kinney-Kendall

Book for an event

Wendy Kinney-Kendall wrote Wind Driven, the bestselling biography of her sister, Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze Medallist windsurfer Barbara Kendall. A competitive windsurfer herself, like Barbara, she began racing small yachts at a young age. The two sisters dominated the girls’ competitions, becoming the Auckland and national female champions for several years in a row before progressing into windsurfing and competing internationally. In 1987 she ran away with the circus as a dancer and elephant rider, touring Indonesia with Chipperfield’s Circus. A qualified photolithographer, she now lives on Waiheke Island with her family, running her business Waiheke Herbs, teaching dance and writing for fun.
