Sophie McCartney is a stand-up comedian and double No.1 Sunday Times bestselling author.
Known for her sharp, no-holds-barred take on motherhood, relationships and millennial life, Sophie has built a hugely successful career across stand-up and publishing, performing to sold-out audiences across the UK and internationally.
A Funny Women Award winner, Sophie is the author of two No.1 Sunday Times bestsellers. Her first book, Tired & Tested: The Wild Ride into Parenthood, was shortlisted for a British Book Award, while her debut novel, Mother Hens, was shortlisted for the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction.
Sophie attracted a cult following online through her ‘Tired and Tested’ comedy sketches and parodies, which helped establish the observational style that now runs through both her live work and her writing.
She lives in Cheshire with her long-suffering husband and four children — three human and one fluffy: Woody the spaniel (AKA the favourite).
