Seyi Akiwowo

Seyi Akiwowo is the Founder and Executive Director of Glitch!, a UK charity determined to make digital spaces safe for all by ending online abuse through advocacy, campaigning and education. She is a graduate from the London School of Economics and Jo Cox Women in Leadership Programme.

In 2014, aged 23, she was elected as the youngest Black female Councillor in East London and served for four years. She has designed and facilitated workshops for over 6 years on political leadership and democracy, soft skills and inclusion worldwide. She is a fellow at George Washington University and a UN Global Goals Keeper. She won the Digital Leader of the Year Award in 2019. She has written pieces for the Guardian, GenderIT.org, The Telegraph and Huffington Post. She spoke on 'Fixing the Glitch' at TedXLondon and has been on podcasts such as Emma Gannon's Ctrl Alt Delete and Jameela Jamil's I Weigh.
