MEDIA COMMENTS ABOUT SHEEHAN :
"It tells you something that the editors of The Atlantic Monthly had to find an Australian (Paul Sheehan) to write heterodoxy still too daring for most American writers.'
WALL STREET JOURNAL

"Anyone who fears that essay writing has fallen prey to endless intellectual pandering or personal drivel should peruse this collection. At their best, they provoke a reader into seeing what's obvious but easily overlooked...The essay by Australian journalist, Paul Sheehan...is a standout."
PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY reviewing The Best American Essays 1997
