Nicholas Brown

Since graduating from NIDA, Nicholas Brown has forged an international career as an actor, singer, writer and Bollywood leading man. His most recent theatre appearances were as Petruchio in Queensland Theatre’s Taming of the Shrew and Come From Away for New Theatricals. Prior to that he was in the Belvoir Theatre’s Counting And Cracking which won the Helpmann Award for Best Play and for Sydney Theatre Company, The Long Forgotten Dream and Still Point Turning. His writer credits include The Unlisted (Aquarius Films), Lighten Up (Griffin), and Tantra 2 (Playwriting Australia). In film and television, Nicholas has appeared in Christmas On The Farm, Laka, Sedition, Dance Academy, Pratichhaya, Unindian, Random 8, Love You To Death, Kites, A Man’s Gotta Do, Temptation, The Characters, Joe Exotic, Amazing Grace, Wakefield, The Unlisted, Harrow, The Letdown, The Elegant Gentlemen’s Guide To Knife Fighting, Mr And Mrs Murder, Packed to the Rafters, and is a regular presenter on Play School. Nicholas has also sung lead, written and recorded with several bands, including The Modernists and Luck Now. He was awarded the Mike Walsh Fellowship in 2004.
