In 2006, Asa Nonami received widespread acclaim for her police procedural, The Hunter. Her second English-translated work--the psychological horror, Now You're One of Us--was published by Vertical in 2007, receiving additional positive reviews. This third work--the first of Nonami's short-story collections--is also horror, without the gore, the monsters or the serial killers. It is firmly "realist" like the author's preceding outing.
