The 2025 Penguin Literary Prize
The Penguin Literary Prize was established to find, nurture and develop new Australian authors of literary fiction – in keeping with Penguin Random House’s proud tradition of publishing this country’s greatest writers.
As of 10am AEDT Thursday 7th November 2024, submissions for the 2025 Penguin Literary Prize are now open.
Submissions will be accepted until 11.59pm AEDT Monday 16th December, 2024.

HOW TO ENTER:
Follow the prompts in our Penguin Literary Prize submission portal at the bottom of this page. You will be required to agree to our entry conditions as part of the process. Following this, you will be required to upload ONE single Word document (no bigger than 3MB in size) with the following information:
1. Synopsis
Write a synopsis of the Work of no more than 300 words.
2. Pitch
Include a page with the following information:
- Title of the Work, and indicate the genre of the Work.
- Brief summary of the Work (two or three sentences).
- Brief author biography (two or three sentences).
- Details of any publishing history and writing awards received.
- Indication of whether the Work has been published, or provided to any other publisher, anywhere in the world.
- Indication of whether this, or a similar, Work was previously submitted to PRH Australia (if so, provide details).
3. Manuscript
A complete, unpublished manuscript for a work of adult literary fiction.
