About

All Saints’ College and Dymocks are pleased to present Meri Fatin In Conversation with Li Cunxin on Tuesday 27 October, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in the Centre for Performing Arts at All Saints’ College.

Join Meri Fatin, respected journalist and broadcaster, as she sits down with internationally renowned ballet dancer, author and former artistic director Li Cunxin to discuss his extraordinary life, career, and enduring legacy.

Best known for his bestselling memoir Mao’s Last Dancer, Li Cunxin’s remarkable journey from growing up in rural China during the Cultural Revolution to becoming one of the world’s leading ballet dancers is a story of resilience, courage and transformation. From his selection for elite ballet training in Beijing, to his defection to the West and rise to international acclaim, Li’s story has inspired audiences around the globe and continues to resonate as a powerful testament to determination and hope.

In this special event, Li reflects on his life in dance, the challenges and triumphs that shaped him, and the experiences that continue to inform his work as a storyteller and leader in the arts.

Books will be available for purchase on the evening, with an opportunity for audience members to have their copies signed following the event.
