About

Modernism changed how we see the world, but the work of these European Modernist artist-women changed how we see women’s bodies – and so much else.

In A Woman’s Eye, Her Art, acclaimed Australian writer Drusilla Modjeska dives into the lives and work of six artist-women who challenged how women were seen and understood in art and the wider culture. Despite the expectations and hypocrisies that surrounded them, these women forged their own paths and demanded freedoms from behind the easel.

Hear Drusilla discuss their often overlooked work and lasting significance with award-winning writer Anna Funder.
