About

Darcy Green and Emma Mugglestone are two Melbourne based authors with sport themed romance novels. As part of our Books in Bars series, they are going to be interviewing each other about their books, debuts, running and AFL.

After the Siren:

Love is hard to tackle in this enemies-to-lovers football rom-com for fans of Casey McQuiston and Alexis Hall. Two teammates get off on the wrong foot . . . but might just stumble into love.

Theo Bestavros did everything right. He worked hard, got his game-winning moment and – failed. He’s determined to make the most of a second chance at the Brunswick Falcons.

Jake Cunningham has it all. He’s a Falcons fan-favourite, a constant headline, and has no intention of being the first AFL player to come out.

Jake thinks Theo is hot. Theo thinks Jake is a colossal pain.

When they’re forced into extra training together, they don’t expect to find friendship, let alone something that looks a lot like dating. But Jake doesn’t want to come out, and Theo can’t jeopardise his shot at redemption.

After the Siren is a romantic comedy about inconvenient attraction, second chances and the joys of AFL.

The Long Run:

Love is a marathon, not a sprint in this fake-dating meets friends-to-lovers romance for fans of Tessa Bailey, Ali Hazelwood and Elle Kennedy. Every step leads to love.

Genevieve Halliday is spiralling.
She’s been roped into a marathon she has no idea how she’ll finish, her ex won’t stop mansplaining why they should get back together, and she’s just panic-asked a handsome stranger to pretend they’re on a date.

Knox Watson is always on the move.
He’s spent years trying to escape his family’s past, but when his godfather’s pâtisserie is in danger of closing, for once he’s going to need to stick around long enough to find a way to save it.

Enter the Croissants and Kilometres run club.
Sparks fly, but the club is only so popular because everyone ships Gen and Knox’s chemistry. Can they keep up the ruse to meet their goals? And will they admit that their fake romance is turning real?

Join the club and get ready to sprint through this steamy fake-dating romance from award-winning author Emma Mugglestone.

About the authors:

Darcy Green: Darcy Green has been writing and reading queer stories since their LiveJournal days. Their debut novel, After the Siren, is a romantic comedy about two AFL players who don’t dislike one another after all. Darcy lived in Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra and Oxford before settling in Melbourne with their wife and two very spoiled rabbits. When they are not working or writing, Darcy can be found playing ice hockey, gaming, or planning elaborate sewing projects.

Emma Mugglestone: Emma  lives in Melbourne, Australia, with her family and dogs in a house that never stays clean and is always noisy but she wouldn’t have it any other way. When she’s not writing contemporary romances filled with charming settings and swoony characters who will steal your heart, she can be found chasing sunrises on early morning runs, reading romances like it’s an Olympic sport and trying to remember her passwords.
