Join us as award-winning non-fiction author Victoria Bruce, who grew up in Huonville, discusses her uplifting book "Adventures with Emilie".
This is the story of Victoria's six-month journey walking the length of New Zealand’s 3,000 km Te Araroa trail when her daughter, Emilie, was only seven years old.
Their amazing mother daughter journey is interwoven with Victoria's reflections of her own childhood trauma and is an informative work on the embodied experiences of what it's like to live with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD).
Powerful and evocative, this is a story about finding joy within the healing power of nature, the deep bond between mother and daughter, survival - both in the wilderness and in life itself.
This is a family friendly event, and everyone is welcome to join us afterwards for afternoon tea, to chat with Victoria and Emilie and share our stories. Victoria will also have books for sale at the event.
