Spirited Hattie Braithwaite divides her days between tending to her demanding father and working at Joshua Swainbank’s struggling woollen mill, now turned over to the war effort. But when Maggie Flemming, an avid football fan who is not at all ladylike in her ways, comes to work at the mill, the pair soon bond over their shared love of the game.
