Who was Tansy Magill, and what sort of nonsense did the Huffingup Hill Gang get up to?
The narrator loves to stay with her grandmother in her house on Huffingup Hill. Most of all she loves Grandma's stories about Tansy Magill, a llittle red-haired girl who once also lived in this house, and who slept in the same bed under the same patchwork quilt. The story she likes to hear most of all is Grandma's tale about how Tansy Magill met Billy Higgins and became part of the Huffingup Hill Gang. She never tires of hearing it, and it always makes her laugh … But who is Tansy Magill, really?
Carol Ann Martin began working in publishing when she was seventeen, and has also been a feature writer and a TV scriptwriter. She has written many titles in the 'Cocky's Circle' series, and the wonderful Dulcie and Dud books, as well as a YA novel (Once There Were Mermaids). She also has a forthcoming title in the Omnibus 'Mates' series. She lives with her husband in southern Tasmania.
